AIMS OF THE GUILD
The Guild was
founded in 1932 with the aims of promoting and maintaining the highest
standards of craftsmanship in brickwork.
All its Journeymen and Master Members have served an apprenticeship, have
obtained their Institute's qualifications and are practising bricklayers,
building supervisors, managers, clerk of works, technical college lecturers
or instructors.
Apprentice's are encouraged and there is also an Associate Class of Membership
for those people in Industry and Education who are sympathetic to the
aims of the Guild.
The Guild is a national organisation divided into fourteen geographical
regions.
Each Section is responsible for organising local competitions, visits,
lectures and activities.
The Regional Competitions for brickwork apprentices are organised annually by Guild OF Bricklayers Section Committees.
The Guild also organise the Inter-Prison Competitions which are held annually.
