AIMS OF THE GUILD

The Guild was founded in 1932 with the aims of promoting and maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship in brickwork.

All its Journeymen and Master Members have served an apprenticeship, have obtained their Institute's qualifications and are practising bricklayers, building supervisors, managers, clerk of works, technical college lecturers or instructors.

Apprentice's are encouraged and there is also an Associate Class of Membership for those people in Industry and Education who are sympathetic to the aims of the Guild.

The Guild is a national organisation divided into fourteen geographical regions.

Each Section is responsible for organising local competitions, visits, lectures and activities.

The Regional Competitions for brickwork apprentices are organised annually by Guild OF Bricklayers Section Committees.

The Guild also organise the Inter-Prison Competitions which are held annually.
